My last holidays: Spain 2009

Welcome AMEP-B students to our class blog!

Yesterday we were talking about our last holidays. As you know, mine were in Spain. Today I want you to find out more about it.
  • Look at this scrapbook of some of my winter holiday in Spain. Write down some questions about any of the pictures and I'll answer them for you. When you have the answers you can write down a recount (a story in the past) of my Spanish Winter Holiday. Show it to me before publishing it in the comments below.
Later on you can make your own photo album and write about your own holidays!

Go to Time4English (on the right hand sidebar, ask me for the user name & password) and do the listening exercise on Level 4- Lower Intermediate 2H about a Mexican Holiday. It will give you more ideas on how to have a conversation about your holidays.
  • Now have a look at the maps in this voicethread. Read and listen to the comments other people have left there. Then join it (it's very easy and quick and I can help you if you get into trouble) and write or leave a recorded message about yourself on the second map.

    Rosa's last holidays: Spain 2009

Rosa went to Spain on holidays .She travelled by plane and stayed at her parent's house for five weeks. She visited a lot of places such as The Pyrenees,Zaragoza,Aguero and Javier. Wile she was in Zaragoza she visited the Pillar church which has a lot of domes. One of them has a fresco by Goya. She was glad to visit it and discover this building which is a christian building influenced by Islamic style of building. Also she visited a beautiful church building in the little town of Agvero, builtin 12th century.

Rosa went to Spain on holidays. While she was there. She visited a lot of important places. The name of one of them is the Basilica-Cathedral of Our Lady of the Pillar. The present building was built between 1681 and 1872.
After that she visited The Castillo de Javier , with a 14th century castle which has a 19th century church added on one side.

Rosa went to Spain on her holiday. She took some pictures and I saw them. There is a snow mountain range called the Pyrenees, which separate Spain and France. In Spain some of the buildings are similar to India. Rosa visited some villages.

Rosa went to the castle of xavier in navarra. She borrowed the car from her brother, the castle of xavier was very beautifuL,it was built from the 19th century when the church was added. St Xavier was from a very rich family.
